Gloveboard isn't magic. It's high-frequency sensor fusion.
The Sensor Array
Each glove contains a 9-axis IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) on the back of the hand, and individual flex sensors running along each finger.
Flex Sensors (Typing)
When you bend a finger, the resistance in the flex sensor changes. Our MCU samples this at 1000Hz, detecting intentional "clicks" while filtering out natural hand twitching. You do not need to tap a surface; you simply pinch your fingers in mid-air.
IMU (Mousing)
The IMU tracks the orientation and acceleration of your hand. Engaging the "Mouse Chord" (Thumb + Index held) turns your hand into an absolute spatial mouse.
The Chording Engine
Instead of 104 keys, you have 10 fingers.
- 5 fingers = 31 possible combinations per hand.
- Two hands = over 1,000 possible simultaneous chords.
We map the most common English letters and bigrams to the easiest chords. T, H, E, and SPACE can be typed with a single micro-gesture.
