The Surface Requirement

The Tap Strap 2 requires a hard surface to tap against. It detects impacts using accelerometers. Gloveboard uses flex sensors. You do not need a surface. You can type with your hands in your pockets.

Actuation Consistency

Because Tap Strap relies on impact, missed taps are frequent on uneven surfaces or soft materials (like your leg). Gloveboard's flex sensors measure the actual bend of your knuckle, resulting in near 100% accuracy once the chord is mastered.
